Building a fixie?! Cool!
I will write something up and make a post.
You need:
1) A frame with horizontal drop outs. This is not a must, but it’s much harder to do if your frame doesn’t have horizontal dropouts.
2) A “fixed” hub, or a built up “fixed” wheel. Fixies are so popular now days that you can find pre-built “fixed” or “flip-flop” wheels pretty easily. So unless you really want to build your own wheel, it’s easiest to just buy a fixed wheel. Most fixed hub wheels don’t come with a gear installed, so you need to buy one of these as well. If you go to the local bike shop and say “I want to fix my old bike” they will sell you all the right parts.
More to come!
It’s a lot of fun… you can do it!

You are right about the Nike Human Race being special. Being a part of something that big is a privilege and I am glad I get to do it. Will keep you posted, thank you.
