Okay, first race down…its been over a week now.  have been doing some light running, not really keeping track of miles, HR, speed-zones, etc.  Just running…which I do enjoy.  Shin splints are back almost full force, so now the running stops (probably for the remainder of the TRI season.  The bike is my favorite, but i really don’t like riding alone…I do it majority of the time, but with all the construction on the roads, the mass amounts of cars and other autos, fearing for my life on the city and country roads, it just hasn’t been fun for me.  Am I getting the post race blues, or is it the fact that the season is coming to a close.

I have a Triathlon race coming up on September 6th….so far no miles on the bike, about 16 miles running and no water time since my race 2 weekends ago….arghhhhhh.  I don’t want to be like this, but no motivation and lack of time is killing me.

Yep! This is very common! Especially when the race was your “A” race… If it was your first, your first at a long distance, your goal race for the year.

You just accomplished something really big, that you had your sights set on for a long time… that can be very emotionally draining.

The cure… you gotta get back onto the band wagon! Get training for your next race.

I just finished my first one on SAT and I am worried about this too. debating doing another one in Sept. or just waiting for next season.

Hey Man - Don’t let the blues get you down. You get to do another race in 10 days…It’s not your first, but it could be your PR? Take what you learned from the first to make the next just that much better.

    Race on!
